The City of Clinton is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of FULLTIME HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I (HEO) in the WATER & SEWER DIVISION. Under occasional supervision, performs the installation, maintenance, and repair of various potable water and sanitary and storm sewer lines, appurtenances, and pumping and lift stations within the service district of the City of Clinton. Operates various heavy equipment and tools as necessary to perform daily tasks. Work is predominately in sanitary sewer systems operations, but may be assigned to work in water distribution system operations as needed. Reports to the Water and Sewer Division Manager or designee.

Requirements: Requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) Applicant must have proof of a four-year high school diploma or acceptable GED. (2) Applicant must possess and maintain a valid SC Driver?s License with a minimum Class B Commercial Driver?s License endorsement (CDL holders given preference) or have the ability to obtain one within one year. (3) Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years old. (4) Requires good customer service skills and good oral/written communication skills. (5) Work is predominately outside in a variety of climatological conditions year round. (6) Performs related work as assigned (7) CDL Holder is subject to DOT operating regulations to include random drug and alcohol testing. (8) Non-Exempt position. (9) Applicant must pass pre-employment physical, pre-employment drug screen, and all other applicable background checks. Salary Range: $14.42/HR ? $17.00/HR DOQ/DOE
